No one wants to be homeless!

 

Supportive Housing helps people live more stable and productive lives!

 

Supportive Housing services combines affordable housing and human service programs to provide a continuum of care for people who are:

 

·         Homeless

·         At risk of becoming homeless

·         Working to become self sufficient

·         In need of additional support not ordinarily accessible through      

     conventional, market-rate housing 

 

Services are provided to help families and individuals become self-sufficient, contributing members of the community. Services are tailored to individual needs and include individual case management, including goal planning, and home visits. Participants are also referred to other MHCDO programs such as:

 

·         Workforce Development

·         Adult Education

·         Emergency Services

·         Housing

·         Home Buying

 

 

Requirements for Supportive Housing Services

 

Tenant Eligibility:

·         Must be a resident of the District of Columbia

·         Must have a stable income (three months)

·         Must be capable of independent living

 

Applicants must agree to:

Police clearance, credit check and random drug testing

 

Types of Housing Provided:

Single Room Occupancy (SRO)

Transitional Housing (one and three bedroom apartments)
