Marshall Heights Community Development Organization is a partner agency with the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) Senior Brown Bag Program. The program offers seniors on a fixed income the ability to supplement their existing food budget through the distribution of nutritious nonperishable food items.
The Brown Bag Program helps low-income older adults eat better by providing free groceries. The bags include fruit, vegetables, and other nourishing food.
Participants receive a minimum of one bag of supplemental food each month. Participants pick up their distributions on the fourth Thursday of each month at MHCDO, 3939 Benning Road, NE, Washington, DC 20019.
Eligibility for the Senior Brown Bag Program is based on income and participants are required to submit an application on an annual basis. Call 202-396-1200 for additional information.
